1984 Land Rover 110 CSW

INTRODUCTION:

This is a 1984 Land-Rover County Station Wagon, fitted with a 2.5 normally aspirated diesel engine.

The vehicle is the much sought-after 12 seat model, with two rows of three forward facing seats, and then two bench seats situated either side at the rear.

It has only covered 53,000 miles since new, but is not in perfect condition.  The bodywork is mainly filler, with some of it breaking up around the panels.  It still looks respectable; and with a little time and effort could look as good as new.

The interior is also tatty.  The front centre seat requires some attention, and the front doors are rusted at the bottom. It is noisy and slow, but a great workhorse and is surprisingly good on fuel.

The engine was replaced by myself in May 2008 - the original had suffered cambelt failure and had been poorly rebuilt.  I have thoroughly serviced this engine including fitting a new cam-belt and a good second-hand injection pump.

The whole vehicle has been serviced front to rear, including fitting some new axle breathers after the rear one became blocked and started leaking from the pinion seal. The rear axle I believe is a Salisbury one.

The Land-Rover is taxed until the end of September and MoT’d until 27 April 2009.  For it’s last MOT, new front brake calipers, pads and master cylinder were fitted.
